La Gard Series 3000 Electronic Key pad
OPENING THE LOCK
- Enter valid six (6) digit code.
- The lock will indicate a valid code entry with a double signal.
- Within four (4) seconds, turn handle to the open position.
- Pull door open.
Invalid Code Entry - Lock will signal three (3) times.
WRONG TRY PENALTY
Entry of four (4) consecutive invalid codes starts a 5-minute delay period.- LED flashes red at ten (10) second intervals.
At the end of the delay period, two more consecutive invalid codes will restart an additional 5-minute delay period.
Entry will not respond to a single keystroke during delay period.
CHANGING YOUR CODE:
ALWAYS PERFORM THIS OPERATION WITH THE DOOR OPEN
- Enter "zero" six times.
- Enter your existing six (6) digit code one time.
- Enter your NEW six (6) digit code two times.
- If a mistake is made wait thirty (30) seconds and repeat steps1 -3.
- Test lock operation several times before closing the door.
Valid Code Entry - Double signal after valid six (6) digit code is entered.
Invalid Code Entry - Triple signal and old code is still valid.
CHANGING YOUR BATTERY
- Slide the keypad housing up and carefully pull away from mounting surface to expose battery compartment.
- Remove one (1) 9-Volt Alkaline battery and replace with new one.
- The connector is easily removed by unsnapping it from the two terminals on the top of the battery.
CAUTION! Hold onto battery terminal pad to avoid pulling wires out of housing.
- Repeat procedure for second battery.
- Carefully position the keypad over the mounting screws and slide the keypad housing down. Ensure that there are no wires or cables trapped between the input pad and the safe door.
Pinched cables can result in a short circuit.
S-G 6120 Digital Keypad Instructions
To open the Lock
1. Press the code digits or letters in order, followed by #. (The lock is shipped from the factory with a factory master code only. It is 1 2 3 4 5 6 #.) The lock bolt will retract for six seconds, allowing you time to operate the safe handle and open the door. Do not put any pressure on the safe handle until after the 6 digit code has been entered. The Model 6120 will lock automatically when the safe door is closed and the handle is turned to the locked position.
Changing the Master Code
- Press 74.
- Press *.
- Enter the existing six-digit Master Code.
- Press #1*.
- Enter the new six-digit Master Code.
- Press #.
- Enter the new six-digit Master Code again.
- Press #. The lock will emit 3 distinct chirps if the new code is accepted. If a long tone is heard the code is not accepted.
Changing/Adding a User Code
- Press 74.
- Press *.
- Enter the six-digit Master Code.
- Press #.
- Enter the user number (2 through 9).
- Press *.
- Enter the new six-digit user code.
- Press #.
- Enter the new six-digit user code again.
- Press #. The lock will emit 3 disticnt chirps if the new code is accepted. If a long tone is heard the code is not accepted.
Deleting a User Code
- Press 74.
- Press *.
- Enter the six-digit Master Code.
- Press #.
- Enter the user number (2 through 9).
- Press *##. The lock will emit 3 distinct chirps to indicate the user is deleted.
S&G 6120 Lock Won't Open
- Replace the batteries. Make sure to use good quality alkaline batteries: Energizer (first choice) or Duracell (second choice).
- If the lock solenoid still does not pull back and the keypad appears to operate correctly try placing the batteries in series (18 Vdc). Otherwise replace the keypad.
- Drill and replace the lock.
S-G 6730 Dial Combination Lock
Changing the Combo
- The existing combo and a change key are required.
- Open the safe door by dialing the existing combo.
- Dial the existing combo again on the changing index, stopping at the third number of the combo.
- Insert the change key. The wing should be entirely inside the lock and come to a positive stop. If the key does not insert the wheels are not properly aligned: repeat Step 3.
- Turn the change key to the left 1/4 turn.
- Leave the change key in the lock.
- Prepare to create a new combo of three numbers.
- Using the change index turn the dial left and pass the first number 3 times and stop exactly on the fourth time.
- Turn the dial right and pass the second number 2 times, then stop exactly on the third time.
- Turn the dial left and pass the third number once, then stop exactly on the second time.
- Leave the dial on the last number and turn the change key back to the right and remove the change key.
- With the door open dial the new combo several times on the opening index to ensure the door will open properly.
- Note: When dialing the new combo on the opening index, the last (forth) number will be a hard stop.
Opening the Safe
- Turn the dial left past the first number 3 times and stop on the forth time.
- Turn the dial right past the second number twice and stop on the third time.
- Turn the dial left past the third number once and stop on the second time.
- Turn the dial right until the dial stops at the last number.
- Turn the handle and open the door.
Combo Does Not Work
- Run the combo with all numbers one number low. Example: Combo should be 50-25-50, run 49-24-49.
- Try one number high.
- Continue in 1/2 number increments up to 3 numbers off in either direction.
- If the door opens using one of the above methods, check if the users tend to spin the dial rapidly. If so, this will cause tumbler wear and combo drift.
- Once the door is opened, the combo should be changed and tested before being shut.
- If the door cannot be opened, it must be drilled.
S-G 8550 Dial Combination Lock
Changing the Combo

- Turn the dial right to 0.
- until the dial stops at the last number.
- Turn the handle and open the door.
Note: The part number for the S&G 8550 lock is T-3600.
